Description
A quilt-like pattern made up of several Adinkra symbols, but prominently showcasing three: "Agyinda Wuru" (faithfulness), "Ananse Ntontan" (wisdom), and "Dwennimmen" (Strength). Also included in the pattern is my logo, the "Chiwara" (antelope). The 'adinkra', comes from the Akan people in southeastern Ghana. It is a special cloth worn during the funeral and other funeral activities. Adinkra cloth is usually hand painted and hand-embroidered and adorned with one, or more, of 72 kinds of adinkra symbols. These symbols are arranged on the cloth in a specific manner to convey a parting message to the deceased. The transliteration of the word adinkra means, "a message one gives to another when departing."
